However, this information is used exclusively for internal statistical purposes, with the sole aim of improving the quality of the services offered.

Use of personal data collected

Automated marketing and/or profiling operations carried out using personal data

We offer our registered users access to e-mail notifications regarding the availability of new content on the site as well as privileged access to information regarding upcoming services and news. These operations are carried out in an automated manner and require the user to provide us with his or her first and last name as well as an e-mail address. For the needs of certain services, telephone numbers and postal addresses may also be requested on a mandatory basis. We do not collect any personal data that is not strictly necessary for the proper implementation of our services and in the interest of offering the best experience to our users.

Contact form

A contact form is made available to our users to contact us in order to submit suggestions for improvement about the services offered, to report erroneous, inappropriate or incomplete content or for any request for information about our services.

The use of this form requires the seizure of personal identification and contact data, reduced however to the strict necessary, in order to enable us to respond. The user will therefore not be able to use this form without providing us with at least the information mentioned as mandatory on it.

Comments

When a user leaves a comment on our website, not only the data entered in the comment form, but also the user’s IP address and browser user agent may be collected in order to help us detect unwanted comments.

An anonymized string (also called hash) created from the user’s e-mail address can be sent to the Gravatar service to check if the user is using it. The Gravatar service’s confidentiality clauses are available online. After validation of the comment, the user’s profile photo will be publicly visible, associated with the user.

The comments of visitors posted on our site are verified by means of an automated service for detecting undesirable comments in order to preserve the interest of the service for the entire community of users of the site as well as for all its visitors.

Cookies

Browsing on the soft-hardware.fr site is likely to cause the installation of cookies on the user’s computer which will then be brought to validate its acceptance for their use. A cookie is a simple text file deposited on the user’s terminal that records information relating to navigation on a site in order to facilitate it later and to allow various measures of frequentation. This data is completely anonymous and does not allow the user to be identified under any circumstances. Some parts of this site or some of its functionalities may not be perfectly operational in the event of refusal to use certain cookies where the use of the latter is permitted.

As soon as a user posts a comment on our site, he will be asked to save his name, email address and possibly his website in cookies, this for the sole purpose of improving the comfort of use of our services and in order not to have to re-enter this information if he wishes, later on, to post a new comment. These cookies expire after one year.

Once a user goes to the login page, a temporary cookie will be created to determine whether or not their browser accepts cookies. It does not contain any personal data and will be deleted automatically when the user closes their browser.

When the user logs in, we set a number of cookies to record his or her login information and screen preferences. The lifetime of a login cookie is two days, and the lifetime of a screen option cookie is one year. If the user checks the “Keep me signed in” box, the cookie will be stored for two weeks. As soon as the user logs out of their account, the cookie is immediately deleted.

By modifying or publishing content where possible, an additional cookie is stored in the user’s browser. This cookie does not contain any personal data and simply indicates the ID of the publication that has just been modified. It expires after one day.

Audience statistics and measurements

Embedded content from other sites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles…). Content embedded from other sites behaves in the same way as if the visitor were visiting that other site.

These websites may then be able to collect data about our visitors, use cookies, embed third-party tracking tools or track the interactions of users who have an account on their website with such embedded content.

Media

We advise registered users who decide to upload images to our website to avoid doing so with images containing EXIF data of GPS coordinates. All visitors to our website who have access to these images may be able to download them and extract location data from them.

Databases

The databases are protected by the provisions of the Act of 1 July 1998 transposing Directive 96/9 of 11 March 1996 on the legal protection of databases.

Duration of storage of collected data

When a comment is posted on our site, the comment and its metadata are kept indefinitely. This makes it possible to automatically recognize and approve subsequent comments instead of leaving them in the moderation queue.

For users who register on our site, we also store the personal data indicated in their profile. All users can view, modify or delete their personal information at any time, with the exception of certain personal information on which the uniqueness of the account is based, such as their username for example. We also have access to this information in order to be able to view and modify it for the purposes of providing our services.

The rights of the user concerning his data

All users who have an account or who have posted one or more comments on our site can request to receive a file containing all the personal data we have about them, including those provided to us as part of our services. They are also able to request the deletion of this personal data concerning them. This request may not concern data stored for administrative, legal or security purposes.

In accordance with the provisions of articles 38 and following of the law 78-17 dated January 6, 1978 relating to data processing, data files and liberties, any user has a right of access, rectification and opposition to personal data concerning him/her, by making a written and signed request, accompanied by the identity document with the signature of the holder of the document and specifying the address to which the reply should be sent.

Transmission of users’ personal data

No personal information of the user of the site soft-hardware.fr is published without his knowledge, exchanged, transferred, assigned or sold on any medium whatsoever to third parties. Only the hypothesis of the purchase of the company LOGIRAM PERSPECTIVES and its rights would allow the transmission of the said information to the potential purchaser who would in turn be bound by the same obligation to preserve and modify the data vis-à-vis the user of the soft-hardware.fr site.

How we protect personal data

We are fully aware of the importance of securing personal data. Therefore, we assure our users that we have adequate measures in place to protect their personal data against unauthorized access, fraudulent use, loss, accidental or unlawful destruction, as well as against disclosure against their will and without their consent.

In order to avoid any violation of this data, we store it on secure servers, regularly update our anti-intrusion protection modules and use a firewall and an encryption system to protect ourselves against external attacks.

Thus, we guarantee our users that access to and use of their personal data is strictly limited to authorized persons and authorized third parties, to the extent strictly necessary for the proper delivery of our services.

Procedures implemented in case of data leakage

In the event of an anomaly noted in our system for the protection of users’ personal data that has led to a violation of the latter, we will notify all of our users concerned, as well as the Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL), within 72 hours of its occurrence, of any violation likely to result in a significant risk to their rights and freedoms as a result of the leakage of information deemed to be sensitive.

In this context, we will communicate the nature of this violation, its probable consequences, the data concerned and all the measures implemented in order to avoid or mitigate the effects of a future occurrence of such an event. If it turns out that we are unable to provide this notification within 72 hours, we will also inform our users of the reasons for the delay. Any additional information that is not immediately available and that relates to a data leakage deemed sensitive will also be notified to the users concerned as soon as we become aware of it.
